About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trial Attorney to join our Insurance Defense Litigation team at State Farm. As a Trial Attorney, you will be responsible for handling a high-volume caseload from discovery stage through trial, demonstrating exceptional knowledge of civil procedure, evidence, and trial procedures.

The selected candidate will possess outstanding research abilities, written and oral advocacy skills, and will be well organized, detail-oriented, and able to independently manage a busy and time-sensitive caseload. This is a hybrid role, requiring hours in the office and virtually, with the possibility of working from home.

Responsibilities
  • Handle a high-volume caseload from discovery stage through trial
  • Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of civil procedure, evidence, and trial procedures
  • Develop and implement effective litigation strategies
  • Conduct research and analysis to support case development
  • Prepare and present written and oral arguments
  • Manage and prioritize multiple cases simultaneously
  • Collaborate with support staff to ensure efficient case management
Requirements
  • Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in New York and membership in good standing with the state bar
  • 1-10 years of insurance defense litigation/trial experience
  • Experience working in a paperless environment
  • Experience directing support staff on clerical and administrative matters related to lawsuit handling
  • Strong automation/technological skills for lawsuit handling and courtroom presentation
What We Offer
  • Potential salary range: $125,625.00-$160,000
  • Potential yearly incentive pay up to 16% of base salary
