Key Responsibilities- Client Advocacy: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and providing accurate and responsive management.
- Business Development: Develop professional business relationships with clients, understand their core business, and identify opportunities for new and repeat business.
- Account Management: Manage client expectations, service commitments, and anticipate needs to ensure quality service delivery.
- Risk Analysis: Analyze commercial lines accounts, make decisions based on individual risk characteristics, exposure analysis, hazard recognition, and control.
- Insurance Planning: Work with larger and complex accounts to assist clients with the strategic design of insurance plans.
- Coverage Binding: Act as a field underwriter and authorized representative of the insurance carrier to determine if coverage should be bound, and bind coverage as appropriate.
- Renewal Management: Strategically remarket renewals to ensure a high level of account retention.
- Proposal Development: Prepare proposals for clients, providing clear and concise information about policy coverage and changes.
- Service Delivery: Provide exceptional service to current and new clients, informing and educating them about policy coverage and changes.
- Claims Support: Assist clients in submitting first reports of claims, obtaining adjusters or visits from agency staff as needed.
- Audit Review: Review audits of policies and verify their accuracy.
- Cancellation Management: Review cancellations and determine reason for cancellation requests, attempting to save accounts while maintaining the agency's financial equity.
- Policy Renewal: Ensure policies are accurate and renewed in a timely manner.
- License and Certification: A Property and Casualty License from the state of domicile is required and must be maintained.
- Education: A college degree is preferred.
- Experience: 10 years' experience in the insurance industry is required.
- Designations: CPCU and/or Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) Designations are a plus.
- Technical Skills: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, as well as the ability to learn new software applications.
- Travel and Transportation: A valid driver's license, ability to travel to client sites, and a reliable source of transportation are required.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment.
