Position Overview:

This role is critical to maintaining safety and efficiency within our operations.

The individual will be responsible for receiving, storing, recycling, shipping, and transporting goods within the warehouse environment by executing the following tasks:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize Stand-Up Forklifts and Turret Forklifts to manage materials and facilitate their movement across various warehouse locations.
  • Safely load and unload materials from pallets, platforms, racks, and shelves using the appropriate equipment.
  • Be prepared to perform all essential duties of a Material Handler I as necessary.
  • Engage in primary responsibilities, dedicating over 60% of time to:
  • Operate motorized equipment, including forklifts, clamps, cherry-pickers, and motorized pallet jacks (certifications required).
  • Employ RF (Radio Frequency) technology to monitor product movement.
  • Disassemble, reassemble, or repair products, materials, or equipment as needed.
  • Sort, bale, weigh, load, and recycle materials according to customer specifications.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience operating forklifts is required.
  • Possession of a valid Forklift Certificate is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated experience with Stand-Up Forklifts and Turret Forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
  • Educational background sufficient to read, comprehend, and act upon verbal and written instructions; a high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Exhibit integrity and ethical behavior, fostering trust among colleagues.
  • Ability to comply with YLA Core Competencies, including Problem Solving, Accountability, Communication, Teamwork, and Customer Focus.
  • Capability to safely lift and maneuver heavy items, often exceeding 50 pounds.
