Department:
Environmental Services
As an Environmental Care Technician, you will report directly to the Environmental Services Supervisor and/or Manager assigned to your specific area. During evenings and weekends, you may receive direction from the Supervisor as designated by the Assistant Director of Environmental Services.
Responsibilities:
- Execute housekeeping tasks for the Environmental Services Department.
- Apply fundamental knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures, as well as the operation and utilization of departmental equipment and supplies.
- Deliver timely, courteous, and proficient services in a safe manner for patients, visitors, and healthcare staff.
- Accept additional assignments related to support functions as necessary to ensure service excellence.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Knowledge:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions both in writing and orally.
Skills:
Proficiency in reading and writing information in English regarding duty lists, instructional materials, and policies and procedures. Capability to use alphanumeric pagers and telephones. Strong customer service skills for interacting directly with patients, families, visitors, and healthcare staff. Ability to work independently.
Experience:
Previous experience as a housekeeper in healthcare, hospitality, or commercial cleaning preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Good physical condition and a general ability to work with hand and power tools.
