Job Overview

Element Materials Technology is seeking a Battery Systems Engineer to enhance our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in our focus on battery safety, performance evaluation, and failure analysis across various sectors, including automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics, and medical devices.

As a vital member of our operations team, the Battery Systems Engineer will engage in both routine and complex testing assignments within the Battery department. This position demands delivering assigned projects while ensuring timely and precise test outcomes for our clientele with minimal oversight.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute on-site evaluations of client-provided products according to specified standards. This includes interpreting designs and schematics, validating project scope, setting up testing equipment, and scripting.
  • Conduct core evaluations such as battery cycling tests, environmental stress tests, and other performance assessments.
  • Provide technical guidance and engineering expertise in developing innovative technologies and customized testing setups.
  • Simultaneously oversee multiple projects, ensuring the accurate and timely release of testing data to clients, including quality control sign-offs.
  • Communicate project progress and test results to clients and internal teams, offering ongoing technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives with both new and existing clients.
  • Set up and operate standard testing apparatus across various sites, including battery cyclers and environmental chambers.
  • Assist in mentoring junior technicians and engineers within the laboratory environment.
  • Utilize internal knowledge and industry resources to reach informed testing conclusions.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, preferably in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Familiarity with battery technologies, including cells, modules, and electrical energy storage systems.
  • Experience with software applications related to EV battery testing is advantageous.
  • Understanding of laboratory safety protocols and quality management systems.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent organizational and customer service abilities.
  • Proven ability to apply academic knowledge to practical battery testing scenarios.
  • In-depth understanding of testing methodologies; capable of defining issues, gathering data, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
