Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Workplace Hazard Assessments: Analyze workplace activities and potential hazards to identify, control, and eliminate hazardous conditions that affect workers, property, the environment, and the general public.
  • Develop and Implement Health and Safety Programs: Design and implement programs to identify, control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors.
  • Ensure Compliance with Regulations: Perform surveys and assessments to determine compliance with health and safety regulations and requirements, and interpret local, state, and federal regulations to determine the appropriate method of compliance.
  • Provide Training and Support: Coordinate and present training sessions for employees and managers on health and safety regulations, requirements, and practices, and assist in the development of training materials.
  • Maintain Records and Reports: Maintain applicable training records and assist in the development of reports to track and analyze health and safety metrics.
Requirements
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Possess expertise in one or more health and safety areas, such as air quality management, asbestos management, industrial safety, hazardous materials management, hazardous waste management, ergonomics, and/or injury and illness prevention.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate hazards, and develop effective solutions to complex health and safety issues.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with employees, managers, and external stakeholders to promote a culture of health and safety.
