We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Beaumont Urgent Care. As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a vital role in ensuring a positive and efficient experience for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Front Office Operations: Manage the reception area, greet patients, and provide instructions to all visitors in a polite and professional manner.
- Insurance Verification: Analyze health insurance benefits, verify insurance eligibility, and relay relevant information regarding payment policies and billing/collection processes.
- Clerical Tasks: Perform various administrative duties, maintain the readiness of the reception area, and adhere to established policies and procedures.
- Financial Management: Determine and collect each patient's financial responsibility, and maintain confidentiality of patient and business documents.
- Support Services: Assist the practice manager and other staff as required, provide overall support for Physicians and office operations, and document Electronic Medical Record (EMR) all medical interventions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Understand and enforce standard healthcare regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Prefer at least one year experience in a medical office or emergency room setting, with urgent care experience preferred but not required.
- Schedule: Ability to work 8am to 8pm, 3 days/week, rotating weekends and holidays.
- Skills: Experience with insurance eligibility and co-pay determination, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
