DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Exterior Trades Technician is vital to the long-term success of The Big Fish Contracting Co. Key responsibilities include:

- Conducting inspections, repairs, and maintenance on roofing, gutters, siding, and other exterior components.
- Communicating effectively with homeowners and department leads regarding work status.
- Demonstrating knowledge of brand products and reviewing projects to determine the appropriate scope of work.

Additionally, the Exterior Trades Technician serves as a brand ambassador, safeguarding the company's reputation with customers, vendors, and current and prospective employees.

- Perform thorough evaluations of client properties to identify necessary repairs or maintenance in roofing, siding, gutters, and related exterior areas.

- Clearly communicate with homeowners, providing detailed explanations of service needs and procedures.

- Ensure all work adheres to company standards and customer expectations, maintaining the integrity of exterior installations.

- Accurately measure, cut, and install materials, ensuring a secure and visually appealing fit around various structural elements.

- Diagnose sources of leaks and water damage, implementing effective solutions to protect property integrity.

- Identify and replace damaged areas of roofs, gutters, and siding as part of sustainable repairs.

- Assess attic spaces and properly install blown-in attic insulation.

- Safely manage and operate ladders, scaffolding, and other necessary equipment, adhering to all safety protocols.

- Transport materials to various job sites throughout the day safely.

- Maintain current knowledge of all products and services offered, educating clients as necessary.

- Utilize various software platforms for job tracking, customer communication, and project management.

- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding job progress and report any issues related to the work.

- Engage with customers to explain work performed on their homes, answer questions, and ensure customer satisfaction to achieve positive reviews.

- Actively participate in team meetings, training sessions, and development workshops to enhance skills and foster team cohesion.


WORKING CONDITIONS

Outdoor Work Environment:
Perform duties primarily in outdoor settings, under varying weather conditions including heat, cold, and precipitation.

Physical Demands:
Handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, climbing ladders, and extensive fieldwork.

Safety Focus:
Prioritize safety, using appropriate personal protective equipment and adhering to all safety guidelines and standards.
Travel Requirements:
Travel to various job sites within the service area, requiring reliable transportation and flexibility in scheduling.

REPORTING
Report directly to the Department Lead.

Attend weekly Department meetings for updates on Scorecards, Rocks, To-Dos, and current issues surrounding the customer service department.


COMPENSATION

Wage Range:
$25 - $35 per hour
