Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Instructional Aide to join our team at the Cambridge Public Schools. As an Instructional Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting students with disabilities and providing assistance to special education teachers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation of Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities
  • Provide support to students during non-instructional activities, such as transitions and toileting
  • Collaborate with general education, special education, and related services staff to ensure a comprehensive support system for students
  • Accommodate and modify instruction to meet the needs of students with disabilities
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the special educator or supervisor
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or 48 college credits from an accredited college or university
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Physical ability to work on the floor and move around the room to support students and teachers
  • Willingness to be trained in de-escalation and safe physical restraint techniques
