Job Description

The Operations Director is a key member of our senior management team, responsible for leading onsite operations and driving financial performance in our lodging, restaurants, and retail facilities in Glacier National Park.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead operational teams across lodgings, restaurants, and retail to achieve key performance indicators, including financial goals, guest satisfaction, and community involvement.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and oversee regular walk-throughs of facilities to inspire and lead on-the-ground leadership.
  • Develop and execute strategies for enhancing the guest experience and transforming it into an exceptional one.
  • Build strong relationships within the Glacier Park tourism industry, including with the Blackfeet Tribe, to support the park as a premier destination.
  • Partner with the Director of Engineering & Maintenance to advance asset management and improvement initiatives.
  • Implement controls to ensure accountability and identify risks, seizing opportunities within operations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in hospitality, lodging, and travel, with a proven track record of success in managing and improving operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in world-class hotels, focusing on building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Experience with best-in-class operating systems, training programs, and large complex hotel properties.
  • Financial acumen, including expertise in managing annual budgets, P&L statements, and capital budget requests.
  • Proficiency with guest satisfaction platforms and ability to analyze feedback, build actionable plans, and respond to concerns professionally.
  • Understanding of remote or seasonally dependent locations, particularly in Glacier Park or similar regions.
  • Proven ability to engage with local communities and build strong, positive relationships.
  • Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and ability to lead operational initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact.
  • Crisis management experience, including natural disasters, public relations issues, and operational emergencies.
  • Understanding of relevant local, state, and federal regulations affecting the hospitality industry in Glacier Park.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role is $120,000-$160,000 per year, with a 10% bonus potential. Pursuit offers a full suite of benefits, including discounts at our hotels, restaurants, and attractions, flexible time off, and a 401k contribution matching plan.
