- Contributes to the success of a Strategic Business Unit (SBU) or Corporate Entity (CEE) through legal insights.
- Employs professional legal principles to enhance the development of corporate strategies.
- May demonstrate specialized knowledge or a comprehensive understanding across multiple areas.
- Mentors junior legal staff and provides succinct, timely updates to senior management.
- Engages in resolving intricate issues requiring thorough analysis of diverse factors.
- Acts as a resource for fellow attorneys and paralegals, advising on complex legal and tactical matters.
- Evaluates and mitigates potential risks.
- Communicates identified business risks and mitigation strategies to management.
- This role is recognized as a subject matter expert in Medicare, blending advanced legal acumen with business insights.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, an active law license, and a minimum of 9 years of relevant legal experience in the industry post-licensure; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in managing external legal counsel is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with key legislation (e.g., AKS, Stark, FCA) and regulatory, transactional, and operational issues related to Medicare is strongly preferred.
