The Virginia Department of Health is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nutritionist Senior to join the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and evaluating personnel, scheduling clinic services, and providing nutrition assessments and counseling for high-risk pregnant women, infants, and children.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient and effective clinic operations
- Schedule clinic services and ensure adequate staffing and training
- Provide nutrition assessments and counseling for high-risk pregnant women, infants, and children
- Assist in presenting nutrition education classes to clients and conducting financial interviews to determine income eligibility
- Perform heights, weights, and lab measurements as needed
- Knowledge of nutritional programs, policies, and procedures
- Current therapeutic diets and principles of nutrition
- Ability to supervise, schedule, and evaluate personnel
- Registration by Commission on Dietetic Registration
- Obtain certification as Competent Professional Authority within 6 months of hire
The Virginia Department of Health offers a competitive salary range of $50,000-$55,000, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, retirement plans, and paid holidays.
