SUMMARY
The Universal Banker is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service by managing a variety of financial transactions and ensuring accurate record-keeping. This role encompasses a range of responsibilities aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver outstanding customer service by processing various financial transactions, including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, wire transfers, stop payments, check cashing, and cash advances, adhering to established guidelines.
- Foster and maintain strong customer relationships through high-quality service.
- Guide customers through their banking needs, acting as a comprehensive relationship manager.
- Conduct interviews to gather necessary information, explain available financial products such as Checking and Savings accounts, Individual Retirement Accounts, Certificates of Deposit, and Savings Bonds, and assist in opening new accounts using a needs-based approach.
- Promote and sell electronic banking services.
- Gather all required information for Commercial Loan/Mortgage applications and relay it to the lender.
- Discuss and refer Wealth Management services to clients.
- Address and resolve branch operational issues.
- Proactively market bank products to customers.
- Support marketing initiatives effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Balance cash drawers according to established protocols.
- Prepare, verify, and manage incoming and outgoing cash shipments.
- Oversee daily vault operations, including the buying and selling of working cash.
- Prepare and authorize cashier's checks, loan checks, and wire transfers within assigned limits.
- Open and close the branch in the absence of management.
- Audit the drawers of other tellers or Universal Bankers.
- Service, balance, and audit TCR, PTM, self-service coin machines, and other branch technologies.
- Close accounts as necessary.
- Lead the branch during management's absence.
- Process overrides for less experienced tellers.
- Mentor and train new Tellers/Universal Bankers.

Education and/or Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent (GED); one to three weeks of training; and at least one year of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
Technical Skills
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Attention to detail.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- General mathematical skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of various banking software.
- Experience with web-based applications.
- Understanding of TCR, PTM, and coin machine operations.
This position is primarily focused on managing customer transactions, resolving issues, and identifying sales opportunities. Key skills include empathetic listening, strong interpersonal abilities, and a genuine desire to assist customers while maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding the bank's interests.
