POSITION SUMMARY:

The Food Service Associate II is accountable to the Food Services Manager. This role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities aimed at delivering exceptional and hygienic food service to patients and clientele.

The core responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

inventory management; delivery and retrieval of patient meal trays; assembly of patient trays; portioning and packaging of food items; preparation of both hot and cold meals for daily service; snack and nourishment preparation; assisting in meal packaging for delivery services; customer service; cashiering duties; dish processing in the dish room; and maintaining cleanliness in both the cafeteria and kitchen areas.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Completion of annual mandatory education is required, along with participation in departmental training sessions provided by management.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two years of experience in food service is preferred.

COMPETENCIES: Proficiency in English reading and verbal communication is essential for effective interaction with colleagues, patients, and care providers within the work environment.

The ability to write and adhere to written instructions in English is necessary. Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction, are required. Strong organizational and time management abilities are highly valued.

Capability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately is essential. Consistent demonstration of considerate interpersonal relations with colleagues and a strong customer service orientation is expected, as evidenced by behavior when engaging with co-workers, patients, and visitors.

Adhere to uniform policies, including appropriate hair covering at all times. 4. Follow hygiene protocols, including handwashing and glove usage as per regulatory requirements. 5. Complete all necessary documentation related to the position. 6. Exhibit a willingness to assist colleagues and adapt daily tasks to departmental needs. 7. Set up, restock, and maintain a clean workstation in compliance with sanitation and safety standards. 8. Complete assigned tasks within the scheduled shift time. 9. Deliver meal trays to patients in accordance with facility policies and procedures. 10. Complete annual food safety training as required. 11. Demonstrate knowledge of basic dietary modifications. 12. Execute cash handling processes accurately according to established protocols. 13. Fulfill annual mandatory education requirements in a timely manner. 14. Utilize personal protective equipment as necessary.
