Job Summary

Volt is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Integration and Test Engineer to join our Engineering team in Springfield, Virginia. As a key member of our Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team, you will be responsible for supporting the daily execution of activities on a complex satellite ground system, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and performing on-site E2 triage and support during business hours with after-hours on-call expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute plans and procedures for system integration and testing.
  • Debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, and develop test environments.
  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to ensure system requirements are met.
  • Provide regular updates to the on-site SETA team via a daily status page and in-person engagements.
  • Support weekly SETA and team lead technical tag-ups, and Change Management Board meetings as needed.
  • Provide technical SME support as an on-site E2 Systems Integration & Test Engineer.
Requirements
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant systems integration and test experience or 5 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree in (STEM).
  • Experience working on-site in a badgeless environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving software system execution problems.
  • Experience with systems engineering principles and activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a Satellite Ground System development or operations environment.
  • Experience with ground station and satellite domains (such as terrestrial data networking, command and telemetry, launch operations, flight dynamics, mission planning, on-orbit operations).
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
  • Test Automation experience (Cucumber, Gherkin, home-grown).
  • Experience with Java, C++, or Python.
  • Experience with Linux operating system.
