Job Overview

Sandis is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team in Roseville. This role will be responsible for overseeing financial reports, preparing operating budgets, and supervising a small team of accounting professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring adherence to GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Review AP coding, sign checks, and lien waivers.
  • Prepare AR collateral reports for bank loans.
  • Prepare periodic Utilization reports for production.
  • Prepare Weekly Cash Flow updates.
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and financial risks, and develop strategies to optimize cash management and mitigate risks.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors during audits and tax filings, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting team members, providing guidance and support to facilitate their professional development.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making and improve business performance.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, working with the CFO and Department to develop realistic financial plans and targets.
  • Prepare project reconciliations and follow-up with clients.
  • Stay informed about changes in financial regulations and industry trends and recommend updates to policies and procedures as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Minimum of five or more years of combined accounting and finance experience.
  • Proven working experience as a financial controller.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience with creating financial statements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
  • Expert and experience with Excel formulas, including IF, SUM, SUMIF, XLOOKUP, MATCH, INDEX, AND, OR, CHOOSE, COUNT, and COUNTIF.
