Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team at Norwalk Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients, ensuring their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough admission assessments of patients to identify their needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Document detailed information, including the plan of care, interventions, and outcomes, to reflect the patient's status.
- Reassess patients on a shift-to-shift basis to ensure their needs are met and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Complete transfer and discharge documentation, including assessments of patient needs to determine the preferred level of care.
- Communicate with patients, families, and significant others regarding medication administration and potential side effects.
- Assess patients before administering medications, noting allergies, parameters, potential side effects, and intervening as needed.
- Provide pain management based on patient reports and assessment findings, reassessing and documenting response according to hospital standards.
- Identify high-risk patients and utilize medication references as needed to ensure safe care.
- Assess patients for potential safety risks upon admission and initiate interventions related to identified risk factors.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures regarding patient safety.
- Coordinate and supervise the delivery of nursing care, including delegation of tasks and maintaining accountability for care delegated.
- Promote a positive work environment through personal example and teamwork.
- Assume the role of charge nurse, demonstrating independent problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and prioritization skills.
- Attend to unit staffing needs in relation to acuity and census in a proactive manner.
- Assist in the orientation and teaching of new nursing personnel.
- Adhere to Nursing Standards of Practice, including assessment, care planning, interventions, and evaluation of the plan of care.
- License to practice in the State of Connecticut.
- Minimum experience: 2-3 years.
- Desired: Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR) within three months of hire.
Nuvance Health is a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations, including Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital, and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center, and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York.
Education- Essential: Associate's Level Degree.
Pay rate depends on relevant experience: $42-$62 per hour.
