Job Overview

The Warehouse Forklift Specialist plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of warehouse activities by safely maneuvering a forklift. This position encompasses a variety of distribution tasks, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and processing returns, all while adhering to the highest standards of safety, security, and productivity. The operator will engage in both manual and mechanical loading and unloading of goods, ensuring that all operations are conducted in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Execute order preparation by processing requests and supply orders; retrieving items from storage (both manually and via forklift); packing products, preparing pallets, and organizing shipments; placing items in the designated delivery area and onto transport vehicles. Adhere to specific operational guidelines and best practices to ensure safe and accurate completion of daily tasks. Document receipts in the appropriate logs and forms. Ensure that all necessary documentation is correctly attached. Support operational processes to deliver value to customers while complying with all company policies and relevant regulations. Assist in conducting physical inventories and cycle counts, ensuring proper stock management. Inspect each shipment for accuracy in quantities, item specifications, and potential damages, following any special instructions provided. Communicate any issues, concerns, or suggestions to management and identify opportunities for process enhancements. Participate in all required training programs and adhere to established guidelines. Perform forklift operations and learn to efficiently containerize loads. Maintain excellent customer service standards for both internal and external stakeholders. Assist with general warehouse maintenance tasks, including cleaning and organizing workspaces. Follow company policies and procedures, completing reports as necessary. Forklift certification is required. Undertake additional duties as assigned. Manage inventory controls by tracking stock locations and processing requests. Ensure a safe and tidy work environment by keeping areas organized and clean.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required. Proficient in computer and data entry skills. Ability to operate a forklift and meet physical demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly. Strong attendance record. Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred. Basic math and reading skills necessary for job functions and paperwork. Ability to follow both oral and written instructions. Candidates should be reliable, punctual, safety-conscious, and possess a strong work ethic. Teamwork skills and willingness to work extended hours when needed are essential. A positive attitude and commitment to excellent customer service are important. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and background check is required.
