Job Summary:
OSI Engineering is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our team as a Process Documentation Specialist. In this role, you will work closely with our product development teams to create comprehensive documentation that defines roles and responsibilities, development processes, and operational know-how.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth interviews with team members and stakeholders to identify tasks, clarify roles, and document responsibilities across various groups and departments.
- Create detailed process documents, including process descriptions, work steps, and inputs/outputs for specific activities within the product development lifecycle.
- Develop how-to guides and training materials related to process documentation, aimed at facilitating new employee onboarding and ensuring consistency in process execution.
- Collaborate with leadership to review and refine the created documents, ensuring they accurately reflect the required processes and responsibilities.
- Establish and maintain a structured repository for all process documentation, ensuring easy access and consistent updates.
- Contribute to organizational analysis efforts by documenting employee feedback on workload and process-related frustrations and suggesting solutions.
Requirements:
- 1-3+ years of experience in technical writing and process documentation.
- Proficient in word processing and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Suite and Confluence.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of people and job functions, including engineers and senior leadership.
- High attention to detail, with a commitment to producing accurate and thorough documentation that meets high standards of quality.
- Basic project management skills, including the ability to determine timelines, prioritize tasks, and manage workloads efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills to structure and maintain a comprehensive documentation repository.
- Ability to generate creative solutions to problems and approach challenges with an open mind, willing to try different and novel approaches.
Bonus Requirements:
- Previous experience in an R&D environment.
