Job Overview

ShorePoint is a leading cybersecurity services firm that requires a skilled Policy Analyst to join our team. As a Policy Analyst, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing cybersecurity policies that align with federal compliance standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience in conducting gap analyses, updating policies, and supporting a comprehensive Zero Trust Architecture strategy. You will work closely with engineering teams to translate technical requirements into effective policy statements and guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct gap analyses of existing security policies and procedures to ensure alignment with FISMA, OMB Memorandums, CISA guidance, NIST best practices, and federal laws.
  • Develop and update security policies and procedures in response to evolving federal guidance, publishing and communicating updates across the organization.
  • Establish and support collaboration mechanisms to receive and incorporate stakeholder feedback on policy updates.
  • Create white papers, executive briefings, training materials, and memorandums to support policy initiatives, communicating the need for updates and changes.
Requirements
  • Experience collaborating with engineering teams to translate system engineering requirements and control requirements into policy statements.
  • Ability to translate policy requirements into Security Assessment Team (SAT) control testing objectives.
  • Knowledge of common security control programs, including defining implementation statements for control inheritance (Fully/Hybrid).
  • Familiarity with FedRAMP Authorized systems and complex control inheritance for various agency systems.
  • Experience in drafting and maintaining enterprise-wide cybersecurity policies, technical standards, and guidance for implementing Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) controls within information systems.
  • Ability to develop documentation such as white papers and CISO memos to show program status, promote program success, and manage configuration changes.
  • Strong understanding of aligning cybersecurity policies and technical standards with federal regulations, including FIPS, NIST Standards, OMB Memos, STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, and federal directives.
  • Experience using NIST 800-53r5 for conducting system security assessments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering or Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in IT governance or policy roles.
  • CISSP certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking to develop undefined tasks into actionable processes and work streams.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with proficiency in written and verbal communication and leading meetings.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and analyze large volumes of information to make informed decisions.
  • Experience with the Cyber Security Assessment and Management (CSAM) GRC tool.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to obtain federal agency required security clearance.
