- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Infant/Toddler Child Development Associates (CDA) Credential or willingness to obtain one
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Related Field (preferred)
- 1-3 Years of Experience Working with Infants and Toddlers (preferred)
- Provide a safe, healthy, and well-managed environment for infants and toddlers.
- Maintain the health, wellness, and safety of a group of children in a center-based setting.
- Interact, play, and communicate with children in a calm, positive, and nurturing manner.
- Utilize positive discipline and guidance with children at all times.
- Responsible for the primary caregiving of up to four children per EOAC EHS policy.
- Provide a nurturing environment where children and parents feel comfortable and welcome.
- Greet parents and children pleasantly and appropriately, ensuring a positive home-center connection.
- Annually complete at least two home visits and two parent-teacher conferences with each child's family.
- Work with co-teacher to maintain ongoing professional and appropriate communication with parents.
- Work with co-teacher to prepare parent/child take-home activities related to classroom curriculum.
- Encourage parents to participate in workshops, training, parent meetings, and other Head Start activities.
- Communicate professionally and clearly with parents, staff, supervisors, and the community.
- Work with a positive and professional attitude and show respect to all.
- Able to effectively collaborate with co-teachers.
- Maintain ongoing professional development in early childhood education as required by regulations.
- Complete and maintain required program documentation, including daily sign-in-out sheets for children and daily CACFP records.
- Maintain confidentiality of child and family information, sharing information for work-related purposes only.
- Participate in all assigned center staff meetings, case management meetings, and Head Start program meetings.
- Reports to work consistently and on time.
- Comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS) and the Head Start Act, Texas Child Care Licensing, the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), local city regulations, and EOAC Head Start 0-5 Policies and Procedures.
- Mandatory reporter of suspected child abuse and neglect.
- Other duties as assigned.
