As an Assistant Beef Shoppe Manager, you will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in managing the Beef Shoppe. Your role will involve supervising and ensuring that guest service, merchandising initiatives, and operational standards are upheld in the beef and seafood departments to drive optimal sales. You will also take on the responsibilities of the Department Manager in their absence.
Compensation begins at $19 per hour.
Responsibilities
1. Ensure that all guests receive courteous and friendly greetings from the Beef Shoppe team, fostering a welcoming sales environment.
2. Meet or exceed budgeted sales, supply/wrap, shrink, and gross profit targets for the Beef Shoppe and seafood sections.
3. Prepare products for sale by cutting, slicing, trimming, wrapping, weighing, and pricing in accordance with Lowes Foods standards.
4. Maintain optimal inventory levels and supplies for the Beef Shoppe and seafood departments, ensuring stock availability through effective ordering.
5. Operate the department in alignment with merchandising and operational guidelines.
6. Ensure high quality and freshness of all products available for sale, verifying that all items are within their sell-by dates.
7. Uphold safety and sanitation standards in all areas related to meat and seafood, including preparation zones, coolers, freezers, and sales floors.
8. Provide guidance, training, and constructive feedback to Beef Shoppe and seafood department staff to ensure satisfactory performance and guest interactions.
9. Assist with product preparation, receiving, stocking, and guest service as needed to meet standards.
10. Manage the department's labor budget, ensuring optimal scheduling to maximize sales and guest service.
11. Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
1. Strong interpersonal skills, effective selling abilities, and a friendly demeanor are essential.
2. Ability to collaborate effectively with others and engage with guests.
3. Capability to lift 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs consistently.
4. Proficient in reading and comprehending information and instructions.
5. Knowledge of meat and seafood products and operations is preferred.
6. Experience in supervising staff, including training and development.
7. Willingness to learn various tasks and technical aspects of the role, including computer operations.
8. Must be at least 18 years of age.
9. Ability to work in a cold environment.
10. Physical capability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
