About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Systems Engineer to join our team at CBRE. As a key member of our Engineering and Technical Services team, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and repairing building system operations and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Inspect building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC/R, and plumbing, to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by clients.
  • Oversee and inspect the work performed by outside contractors, including landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC/R, plumbing, and cleaning.
  • Perform assigned repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance.
  • Complete maintenance and repair records as required.
  • Review assigned work orders and estimate time and materials needed to complete repairs.
  • Order necessary materials and supplies to complete tasks.
  • Maintain an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate all systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum.
  • Maintain the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.
  • Perform welding, carpentry, furniture assembly, and locksmith tasks as needed.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations and summon additional assistance as needed.
Requirements
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), minimum of four (4) years of related experience and/or trade school training, and engineering experience that focuses on HVAC, Electrical, BMS, and Boilers.
  • Clean Room and/or Controlled/Critical Environment experience preferred, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) preferred, and Life Science experience preferred.
  • Responsible for personal safety and the safety of those who are affected by your work, with electrical safety training and/or license a plus, and NFPA-70E certification preferred.
  • Universal EPA certification preferred, and additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems, ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents, and strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
