The estimated base pay range for this role is $120,000-$165,000 USD per year, depending on qualifications and location.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electro-Optical System Validation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our validation team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing methods to validate and enhance the performance of various electro-optical subsystems. Your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and test electro-optical sub-systems, including line cards used in telecommunications equipment.
  • Review and optimize sub-system design, integrating optics, electronics, firmware, software, and thermal design.
  • Develop laboratory setups to measure and analyze system performance.
  • Write scripts to automate measurements and feed data into a database.
  • Analyze data and extract key performance parameters using software and algorithms.
  • Design and run experiments to validate system functionality.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical science with 4+ years of industry experience.
  • 3-4 years of experience validating and testing optical systems.
  • Experience working with optical and/or electrical test equipment.
  • High-speed electro-optical device and test equipment expertise.
  • Ability to develop test methods and optimization algorithms.
  • Familiarity with programming languages, especially Python.
  • Knowledge of FPGA programming is a plus.
