Faculty Position in Systematic Theology

Concordia University Irvine is seeking a dedicated faculty member for a full-time role in the field of systematic theology, available at the assistant, associate, or full professor level. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses within the Enduring Questions and Ideas Curriculum, as well as advanced courses at both the upper division and graduate levels in systematic theology.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging undergraduate and graduate theology courses.
- Contribute to theological scholarship and research.
- Participate in university service and represent the Lutheran theological tradition.
- Fulfill part-time administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications: Candidates must be ordained ministers in The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod or eligible for ordination by the time of appointment. An earned doctorate in systematic theology is required, although candidates who are ABD may also be considered.
Appointment Details: This full-time position is based on the university's Turtle Rock Campus. The faculty member is expected to actively engage in the university community, including participation in chapel services, university committees, and collegial interactions.
