Amergis is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to work in a variety of clinic settings, serving a specific population's health and wellness needs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to make clinical judgments effectively and efficiently to provide quality appropriate care in accordance with facility policies and protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate patients' health status, estimate health risk, and inform/provide feedback to patients to motivate behavior change to reduce health risks.
- Identify and prioritize actions based on patient care requirements.
- Perform interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and clinic/site policies.
- Provide a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic patient environment.
- Initiate patient and family education when appropriate.
- Document patients' responses to nursing care and other interventions as well as follow-up recommendations.
- Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
- Must have working knowledge of universal precautions.
- Knowledge of protocols for reporting adverse reactions, incidents, and injuries.
- Knowledge of Workers Compensation assessments and reporting if applicable.
- Knowledge of Immunization and Vaccine schedules and safety.
- Administer vaccines or any necessary medications per site/facility protocols.
- Appropriately store, transport, and handle vaccines.
- Safely and appropriately transport biological material, sharps, and other required supplies to clinic sites.
- Appropriately handle and dispose of biological waste.
- Complete appropriate participant consent forms and clinic records.
- Input information into the clients' database for tracking per policy/protocol and state regulations if applicable.
- Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices.
- One year experience as a nurse in a clinic or immunization setting preferred.
- Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice.
- Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
- Current CPR if applicable.
- TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable.
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required.
- Computer proficiency required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
