Overview

The County of Los Angeles, CA is seeking a skilled Fire Prevention Engineering Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in ensuring public safety by reviewing and approving construction plans and inspecting building sites for compliance with fire protection codes and regulations.

Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced fire protection engineer to work on complex projects and contribute to the development of innovative solutions. You will be responsible for conducting plan checks, identifying discrepancies, and providing recommendations to project applicants.

Requirements
  • A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed.
  • An accredited degree in civil engineering, fire protection engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architecture, fire protection administration, or fire technology related field.
  • One year of experience performing fire protection engineering work, preferably in a government agency or a similar setting.
