Job Summary:

The Surgical First Assistant plays a crucial role in the operating room, supporting the surgeon in the performance of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist the surgeon in preparing the patient and the operating room for surgery.

· Maintain a sterile environment and handle surgical instruments and equipment.

· Monitor the patient's vital signs and report any changes to the surgeon.

· Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.

Requirements:

· Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).

· Current LA nursing license (RN/LPN only).

· 3 years of Operating Room experience (preferred).

· Current Certified Nurse of the Operating Room (CNOR) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification (preferred).

· Documented completion of an approved first assisting course (required).

· BLS completed, ACLS preferred.

Work Environment:

Full-time position in a dynamic and fast-paced operating room environment.
