The Intensive Care Unit at Mercy Ardmore is a critical care unit that provides exceptional care to critically ill patients. Our team of experienced nurses works together to manage the care of patients with complex medical conditions, including respiratory failure, pneumonia, and cardiac arrest.

We offer patients with severe illnesses a specialized dialysis treatment called SLED (sustained low-efficiency dialysis), which requires a 1:1 nurse to patient ratio. Our team is dedicated to providing compassionate and individualized care to each patient.

Some of the many procedures and skills we see daily/weekly include NGT placement, foley placement, and PIV placement. We assist physicians with Central Line placement, Arterial Line placement, Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Chest Tube placement, Temporary Pacemaker placement, bedside Bronchoscopy, and bedside GI procedures.

Our team is like family, and we work hard together. We celebrate together, pray together, and sometimes we mourn together. But we do all things together as a team. We believe our faith is the center of our work and safe patient care with excellence and compassion is what we strive for.

Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).

Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
