Position Overview
The Civil Project Engineer will play a crucial role in providing both technical and managerial support to the construction operations associated with various projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate project meetings to gather and share relevant information regarding the project.
  • Oversee the review of technical specifications and drawings, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Coordinate the flow of technical information between the company and stakeholders.
  • Develop comprehensive work plans and procedures to initiate construction on-site, securing necessary approvals.
  • Manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and Field Design Changes (FDCs) related to project design, as well as Non-Conformance Report (NCR) resolutions.
  • Monitor project schedules and activities to ensure timely completion, including liaising with external suppliers for prompt responses.
  • Create detailed bills of materials in accordance with project specifications and drawings.
  • Evaluate supplier quotations, considering cost standards and technical specifications.
  • Identify potential conflicts or delays in the construction process through careful review of project drawings, and recommend preventative measures.
  • Ensure accurate representation of project charges for accounting purposes.
  • Supervise subcontractors and manage change orders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Schedule and oversee Quality Control and Quality Assurance inspections.
  • Coordinate survey operations as necessary.
  • Support company initiatives and objectives.
  • Implement and coordinate the Safety, Health, and Environmental program.

Qualifications
Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience within a construction or engineering firm.
Preferred:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Professional Engineer License.
  • Field experience in construction.
  • Experience with heavy civil projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 Scheduling Software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Goal-oriented with a strong ability to achieve set objectives.
  • Strong follow-up skills with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively engage with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Organizational skills to plan, prioritize, and monitor activities effectively.
