Understanding of the surgical assisting program, including admission and graduation criteria.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with institutional resources.
Strong organizational, time management, presentation, and communication skills.
Ability to foster relationships and provide guidance to students regarding program information and progression.
Capacity to comprehend curriculum requirements and manage material and equipment needs effectively.


Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
This role is primarily sedentary, requiring minimal physical exertion. Responsibilities may include occasional lifting of light objects and engaging in standard office activities. The work environment is generally free from unpleasant conditions or hazards.


Qualifications:

Associate degree in Applied Science or a related field from an accredited institution is required.

A minimum of two years of experience in surgical assisting or as an instructor within the last five years is essential.

At least three years of experience as a surgical preceptor is preferred.

Teaching experience is advantageous.

Certifications:

Current credentials in CST, CFA/CSFA through an accredited certification program are mandatory.

Membership in the Association of Surgical Technology (AST) is required.

Basic Life Support Certification for Health Care Providers or equivalent is necessary.
