Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Team Leader in achieving sales, purchasing, and labor targets, while maintaining a high level of customer service and ensuring a positive company image.
  • Develop and maintain creative store layouts and product merchandising, ensuring that our products are displayed in an attractive and appealing manner.
  • Work with the Team Leader to analyze sales reports, labor data, and other key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to drive business growth.
  • Develop and maintain advanced product knowledge, staying up-to-date on new products and trends in the produce industry.
  • Maintain good vendor relationships, develop new vendor relationships, and ensure all paperwork is properly submitted for vendor processing.
  • Work with the Team Leader to resolve team concerns or issues, ensuring that all team members are supported and empowered to succeed.
  • Function as point person and departmental person in charge in the absence of the Team Leader, ensuring that the store runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Set and achieve the highest standards of retail execution, ensuring that our store meets or exceeds company standards.
  • Foster and encourage a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale, ensuring that all team members feel valued and supported.
  • Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs, directing team members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers, and responding promptly to customer needs and questions.
  • Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel team members in a manner that sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
  • Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations, ensuring that all team members receive regular feedback and coaching to help them grow and develop in their roles.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday.
  • Hand use requires single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
  • Work requires bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in a wet and cold environment and use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
