About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at Westcare. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide health promotion services, including health education, psycho-education, prevention, and outreach.
  • Support medical staff through all phases of client care, from arrival to discharge.
  • Document client status and ensure accurate paperwork.
  • Collect client vitals and record them.
  • Conduct client admissions and provide support with daily living activities.
  • Participate in the development of person-centered Wellness and Recovery plans.
  • Encourage and support peers in achieving their goals.
  • Apply Motivational Interviewing strategies and Collaborative Care techniques.
Requirements
  • HIV/AIDS 104 Basic Education and valid CPR Certificates are required.
  • Must hold a current Peer Certification as CPPS and/or CPRS from Florida Certification Board or be able to obtain certification within 6 months of employment.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Training and/or experience in Crisis Intervention is preferred.
  • Must be a current recipient of behavioral health services with a minimum of two years in recovery.
