Job Summary

As a Transmission Lineman Specialist at MasTec Utility Services, you will play a critical role in the construction, maintenance, and repair of high-voltage transmission lines. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construct, maintain, and repair high-voltage transmission lines, including transmission structure replacements, wire pulling, and new line builds.
  • Perform construction, maintenance, or repair work of transmission lines, including installing and maintaining wood poles and steel towers of all heights.
  • Operate and maintain vehicles and specialized equipment used in the electric utility industry.
  • Safely identify primary and secondary voltage on a circuit and have familiarity with induced voltage.
Requirements
  • Knowledge in grounding, dead ending, and how to properly sag wire.
  • Proficient in climbing different types of structures (wood, steel, poles, towers, etc.).
  • Up to 100% travel required.
  • Valid and current state Driver's License.
  • Must be willing to travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid and current Class A CDL.
  • Leadership Training.
  • Completion of Lineman School.
  • Completion of Apprenticeship Program.

This job operates in a field environment, requiring extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting.
