Job Summary

The University of Miami Dr. Phillip Frost Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery is seeking an Associate Professor of Clinical Dermatology to join our esteemed team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients with general dermatology conditions, conducting examinations, assessing and evaluating symptoms, and prescribing medical treatment or services. You will also train and mentor residents and fellows to increase their clinical fund of knowledge and interest in academic research. Additionally, you will participate in educational conferences, department meetings, and scholarly work associated with the department. The ideal candidate will have experience working with multidisciplinary clinical and research teams, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently and independently as part of a collaborative group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality medical care to patients with general dermatology conditions
  • Conduct examinations, assess and evaluate symptoms, and prescribe medical treatment or services
  • Train and mentor residents and fellows to increase their clinical fund of knowledge and interest in academic research
  • Participate in educational conferences, department meetings, and scholarly work associated with the department
  • Obtain data and results that can be used to submit an application for future clinical research awards
  • Provide coverage on inpatient service/telehealth service for the cruise lines as needed
Requirements

Education:
  • MD Degree
Certification and Licensing:
  • Fully trained in Dermatology-board-certified or board-eligible
Experience:
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary clinical and research teams
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
  • Valid Florida medical license
  • Valid DEA license
  • BLS/ACLS certified
