About the Role

The Campus Planner will lead planning for university initiatives such as accessibility reviews, space utilization, capital asset management, as well as specific program requests. This role will provide vital space planning and programming expertise to support the management of capital projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead planning for university initiatives, including accessibility reviews, space utilization, and capital asset management.
  • Provide space planning and programming expertise to support the management of capital projects.
  • Collaborate with campus constituents to understand needs and advocate for functional and achievable solutions.
  • Negotiate and balance the expectations and priorities of demanding constituencies while keeping the University's priorities in view.
  • Communicate verbally, graphically, and in writing with members of the university community to understand and discuss specific teaching, research, and clinical programs.
  • Manage multiple relationships working effectively in a team environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with Massachusetts building code, life safety, and accessibility regulations as they relate to planning and pre-design studies.
  • Utilize CAD software packages, spreadsheets, and analytic tools to support planning and project management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required with 8+ years of experience or equivalent.
  • Background from design and/or development industry, including architecture, urban planning, space planning, programming, project development, or construction experience with a focus on higher education.
  • Strong client service mentality, creative problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to obtain appropriate results with limited direction, shows initiative, and ability to manage multiple relationships working effectively in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of Massachusetts building code, life safety, and accessibility regulations as they relate to planning and pre-design studies.
  • Proficiency with CAD software packages, spreadsheets, and analytic tools.
