We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team at the University of Virginia's Department of Surgery. The successful candidate will work in the lab of Dr. Russell Witt, focusing on melanoma cancer research and the interactions between obesity, sex hormones, and melanoma treatment responses.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and execute cancer research projects, developing and implementing study goals and objectives.
- Design and execute complex laboratory experiments, performing advanced molecular and cellular techniques.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret research data, developing and implementing new or revised research methodologies and techniques.
- Manage laboratory activities, coordinate work assignments, and oversee periodic maintenance and testing of laboratory equipment.
- Assist in preparing research papers and manuscripts for publication and presentations at national conferences and workshops.
- PhD and/or MD degree in an appropriate biological/health science.
- Ability to translate, adapt, and apply academic and/or practical knowledge in conducting biological/health science research.
- Experience in a biological/health science research capacity is preferred.
