Gas Engineer

At Tucson Electric Power, we are seeking a highly skilled Gas Engineer to join our team. As a Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for performing gas engineering studies and evaluating alternative designs or processes related to facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Specify or validate all gas materials and/or equipment required on assigned projects.
- Create and maintain hydraulic models utilizing Synergi Gas for each of the systems statewide.
- Analyze gas piping systems through the use of Synergi Gas and make recommendations for system improvements to District Managers.
- Design and create construction drawings for Interconnects, Regulator Stations, and Large Metering Stations in conjunction with the Measurement personnel.
- Support Wireless, RF, and digital signal communications processes.
- Installation and maintenance of communication equipment specific to company hardware and software.
- Plan and support execution of statewide network for communication with gas meters and measurement equipment.
- RF programming and troubleshooting.
Requirements:
- BS Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Petroleum, Communications) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two (2) years of Gas Utility, Corrosion Engineering, or Communications experience preferred.
- Knowledge of hydraulic modeling/system analysis, preferred.
- Must have knowledge of GIS/CAD Systems.
- Must have knowledge of applicable codes, standards, regulations, and fuel gas engineering practices.
- Underground construction knowledge preferred.
- Gas Measurement knowledge preferred.
- Understanding of corrosion control techniques preferred.
- Understanding of Land Use, Easements, and Rights of Way applications.
- Must have excellent verbal/written communications skills.
- Competent computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must possess a working knowledge of DOT, State, and Company policies and procedures.
- Valid AZ driver's license and will submit to Company pre-employment and DOT/PHMSA random drug testing as required.
- Must be able to travel extensively, including overnight travel and on a moment's notice.
