Position Overview:
The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is seeking a Cybersecurity Assurance Specialist to join our team. This role offers a hybrid work model, allowing for flexibility with remote work opportunities.

This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in information assurance and security engineering, particularly within federal civilian government sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will:

  • Possess a robust technical foundation and a comprehensive understanding of federal security protocols and guidelines.
  • Ensure the security integrity of IT operating environments while managing compliance and collaborating with various stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular security evaluations and audits, providing detailed reports and recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop and maintain essential security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs) and Risk Assessments.
  • Create management-level security reports and present findings to stakeholders regularly.
  • Lead incident response initiatives and coordinate exercises to enhance preparedness.
  • Stay informed about the latest security trends and threats to proactively address vulnerabilities.

Basic Qualifications:
Candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in federal information system security roles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information effectively.
  • Active certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, or CCSP.
  • A solid understanding of FISMA, OMB regulations, and NIST security standards.

Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will also have:

  • Experience in incident response and security tool deployment.
  • Knowledge of cloud security practices, particularly in AWS and Azure environments.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols and modern cloud technologies.
