Staff Radar Electronics Engineer

Job Title: Staff Radar Electronics Engineer
Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Staff Radar Electronics Engineer to join our team of experts in the field of radar systems engineering. As a key member of our Radar Integration Team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing new and existing high-fidelity, physics-based radar system performance models, complex algorithms, threat models, and command & control models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop mathematical algorithms for mode/sensor implementation
- Develop software to model behavior of systems in real-time and constructive simulations of sensors and other platforms
- Solicit input from various stakeholders, synthesize data, and communicate results to various levels of leadership within the organization
- Lead technical teams and participate in technical peer reviews throughout the product lifecycle of design, development, integration, and test
- Perform mission engineering activities to ensure continuity between desired operational capabilities and delivered system performance
- Guide the team through development/implementation activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 14 years of related professional/military experience in engineering; or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of related professional/military experience in engineering; or a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 9 years of related professional/military experience in engineering
- Active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance (required to start)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Special Program Access (PAR/SAP) within a reasonable amount of time, prior to start
- Experience with signals processing and radar systems
- Experience with electronics systems performance analysis, test, or integration
- Experience with MATLAB, C/C++, Python, or related languages
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong desire to learn, take initiative, and contribute in a team-oriented environment
- Knowledge of system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation, and interface control documentation
- Demonstrated experience with Air-to-Air and/or Air-to-Ground modes
- Demonstrated mathematical problem-solving ability and data analysis experience
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication, presentation skills, verbal, and written communication skills
- Work experience with one of the following areas related to radar systems: search or track, surveillance, reconnaissance, electronic protection, ID, or adaptive technique
- Customer focus and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated team leadership experience
- An understanding of the physical limitations to implementing complex algorithms in real hardware
- A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance with current or previous Special Program Access (SAP)/SCI
Salary Range: $142,500 - $213,700
