The Patient Care Associate is responsible for performing assigned patient care tasks under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
The PCA assists with patient care as delegated by the RN and in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
The PCA carries out various clinical responsibilities, including documentation of tasks and supports and upholds the Patient Bill of Rights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with patient care tasks under the supervision of the Registered Nurse
- Perform delegated tasks in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
- Document tasks and support the Patient Bill of Rights
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous healthcare experience required
- Certified Nurse's Assistant, Certified Patient Care Technician, or currently enrolled in a nursing program highly preferred
- Demonstrated experience and competence in Phlebotomy and EKG preferred
- Monitor Technician experience preferred when applicable for area of assignment
- Full command of the English language
- Sufficient physical ability and perceptive acuity to perform patient care functions
