This part-time nursing position includes:
- Additional $2.50/hr night shift differential and $1.25/hr weekend differential
- 12-hour Night Shifts: 6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.
- Scheduled for 2 shifts weekly, including weekends and holidays
Position Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers professional nursing care to residents of all ages in a long-term care setting, under the guidance of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Demonstrates understanding of nursing principles relevant to the clinical environment. Exhibits competency and operates within the full scope of nursing knowledge, applying appropriate standards for the physical and psychosocial needs of residents as outlined in care plans. Capable of performing assessments to evaluate resident status and provide necessary care. Recognizes issues, suggests solutions, and responds effectively in emergencies.
Ensures the health, comfort, and safety of residents. Participates in resident assessments and administers medications or treatments as prescribed. Provides technical assistance to healthcare professionals as required. Documents resident interactions and outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activities, and dietary needs. Skilled in building and maintaining effective relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the community. Works effectively as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Communicates clearly while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. Advises residents and family members on prevention and treatment plans under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Knowledgeable in resident education principles to develop self-care programs. Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse. An associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
If the position requires IV therapy/management skills, the following is required in North Dakota: graduation from a Board-approved AASPN program where IV therapy is included in the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
Must have completed a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the lifespan or have a minimum of 400 hours of experience as an LPN at another facility. Specific services/positions may have additional education, training, or experience requirements.
Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with the State Nursing Board and/or possesses multi-state licensure privileges. Maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications. Completes annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training as required by the department and facility.
