Job Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant II plays a vital role in the ambulatory setting, providing direct patient care and supporting healthcare practitioners. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to interact professionally with patients and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct patient care by taking vitals, patient history, and performing lab and x-ray procedures as directed by the provider and/or clinical supervisor.
  • Monitors and documents patient status, including lab values, pain levels, and patient education needs.
  • Manages large call volumes while maintaining excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Responsible for stocking exam rooms, taking inventory, and ordering supplies.
  • Participates in the development of the plan of care, including implementation and evaluation of appropriate patient care interventions.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Patient Care as a Medical Assistant or similar patient care role preferred.
  • Medical Assistant certification from a recognized organization, such as American Medical Technologists (AMT) or American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
