Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Park Lawn Memorial Group, LLC. As a key member of our grounds team, you will be responsible for maintaining the appearance of our cemeteries, mausoleums, and funeral homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the grounds of our cemeteries, mausoleums, and funeral homes, including mowing, pruning, and trimming vegetation.
  • Operate various types of equipment, including lawn mowers, trimmers, and edgers.
  • Perform set-up and completion of interments and entombments, including excavating graves and assisting with the placement of caskets.
  • Identify and locate interment/entombment spaces on cemetery maps.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of grounds experience.
  • Cemetery grounds experience is strongly preferred.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license in good standing and acceptable driving record.

  • The duties associated with this position are generally performed in an outdoor setting.
  • Outdoor duties may require exposure to natural elements such as inclement weather, extreme temperatures, uneven ground, dust, gas, and/or fumes.
  • Equipment used to perform the essential function of this position includes hand-held tools and equipment, including shovels, picks, rakes, sledgehammers, lawn mowers, weed trimmers, and sod cutters.
  • Employees in this role are regularly required to climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and frequently lift up to 75 pounds and may be required to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • This position may also require reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • This position may also be exposed to chemicals and/or blood-borne pathogens. Exposure risk is considered: Low.
  • Overtime is sometimes necessary or required.
Travel

This position may require up to 10 percent out-of-area and overnight travel.

Travel is primarily local, occurring during the business day only.
