Job Description

As a Lead Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the space segment technical team. This includes systems analysis and trades, coordinating space segment engineering activities, engineering baseline management, interface management, requirements/V&V management, integration & test campaign development and execution, subcontractor technical oversight, CAM/EVMS duties, preparing/presenting SE material at all major reviews and PMRs.

You will also be responsible for both individual-contributor and leadership roles within a multi-disciplined engineering team. Successful candidates must be able to recognize and mitigate space segment technical issues and risks while operating within budget and on schedule.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead/Provide major support to the entire space segment technical team.
  • Lead and optimize space vehicle design, processing, and mission success.
  • Troubleshoot and develop solutions to complex problems that the program may encounter.
  • Develop, author and/or provide input to major program data products and other deliverables.
  • Technical management of program elements.
  • Plan and conduct of technical reviews and technical baseline.
  • Write status and technical performance reviews and reports.
  • Mentor, coach, train, guide, direct and advise junior staff.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • An active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.
  • Bachelor's in Engineering, Physics, or related STEM Degree with 12 years of experience in a related engineering field such as mechanical, electrical, aerospace and/or operations or a Master's Degree and 10 years of applicable experience.
  • Extensive technical experience in systems engineering and integration of complex systems, including space systems development, manufacture, test, or operations, including previous technical or project leadership positions.
