Key Responsibilities


This role reports to the Project Engineering Manager and serves as the liaison between our clients and internal teams to ensure all engineering specifications are fulfilled.

The Engineering Project Coordinator must adeptly convert 3D Model Based Definition (MBD) and legacy drawing data into internal documentation such as engineering models, production and quality plans, and tooling designs.


The Level I Coordinator should be capable of managing projects effectively and thriving in a matrix organizational structure.

A Level I Engineering Project Coordinator must be proactive, able to juggle multiple tasks concurrently, and balance hands-on work while collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders.

This position also necessitates familiarity with CATIA or similar CAD software and requires strong communication skills.

In this entry-level role, the candidate will present information to clients, suppliers, and internal teams, including senior management.

A solid understanding of overall aircraft design and functionality would be advantageous.

Core Functions

  • Act as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring that all client specifications are accurately translated and integrated into our operational and manufacturing systems.
  • Implement a Risk Management Assessment to support project initiatives.
  • Prepare cost estimates from inquiries, assist in Value Analysis (VA) Engineering, and contribute to improvements in manufacturability and continuous enhancement efforts.
  • Identify and oversee tooling needs, including forming, functional gauging, and assembly fixtures.
  • Capable of executing activities related to new product development and initial launch.
  • Plan manufacturing processes to ensure quality component production.
  • Create and maintain precise Bill of Material (BOM) requirements.
  • Adjust planning as necessary for client engineering or purchase order modifications or method improvement/correction changes.
  • Provide cost estimates to support client RFQs.
  • Collaborate with client and supplier engineering teams to coordinate engineering data and ensure proper communication of client requirements.
  • Manage all tooling needs, including production rate tooling and anticipated tool life cycle expectations.
  • Assist in prioritizing project tasks for supporting departments and external suppliers.
  • Define project timelines and establish key milestones, tracking and updating progress using Microsoft Project as needed.
  • Communicate project status to clients using appropriate formats and methodologies.
  • Work alongside the Project Engineering Manager to establish budget baselines.
  • Assist in drafting work instructions (SOPs) detailing the processing steps necessary for producing components or subassemblies.
  • Coordinate and support First Article Inspection requirements.
  • Facilitate information flow among engineering team members to implement corrections or enhancements to planning, tooling, or processes.
  • Responsible for the appropriate handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime as required.
  • Consistent attendance is a crucial function of this role.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required by the position.
Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to use hands for various tasks.
The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, or sit.

  • Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Effective communication skills are essential.
  • Annual baseline hearing assessments are required.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required

  • Working conditions consist of approximately 80% office and 20% manufacturing environment.
  • While performing the duties of this role, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, and electrical hazards.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate and occasionally loud.

Preferred Experience/Skill Sets:
This is an entry-level engineering position; however, some experience in a shop environment is beneficial.

Demonstrated proficiency in a CAD software system, preferably CATIA.

Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and Value Analysis (VA) Engineering, including design for manufacturability.
  • Willingness to travel if necessary.
Required Education


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, preferably in mechanical, aerospace, industrial, or systems engineering.
  • Working knowledge of aerospace manufacturing is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.

Preferred Experience/Skill Sets:
This is an entry-level engineering position; however, some experience in a shop environment is beneficial.
