Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager to lead our Med Surg/Tele units at Manatee Memorial Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and coordinating the clinical activities and operations of the units, ensuring high-quality patient care and excellent patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise the nursing staff, ensuring that they are adequately trained and equipped to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital standards.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to develop and implement the annual budget for the nursing department.
  • Monitor and analyze patient classification, patient assignments, and reconciliation to ensure that the units are operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure that the units are following evidence-based practices and that the nursing staff is utilizing the nursing process to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Schedule staff in the most cost-effective manner, taking into account forecasting data and productivity standards.
  • Proactively plan for future staffing needs, ensuring that the units are adequately staffed to meet the needs of patients.
  • Ensure that staff schedules are complete and published within the appropriate time frame.
  • Monitor and review productivity on a daily basis, taking corrective action as needed to ensure that productivity standards are met.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current RN licensure in Florida.
  • BSN, required.
  • MSN, preferred.
  • Current BLS through American Heart Association.
  • Current ACLS through American Heart Association.
  • Previous management experience, required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the area of practice.
