Compensation:
Starting at $16.65 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Signing Bonus:
$2,000 for non-CDL applicants, $3,000 for CDL holders.

Guaranteed Work Hours:
3 hours daily.

Primary Duties:
  • Safely drive a school bus along designated routes, spare routes, or for special events.
  • Interpret and comprehend street signs, route documentation, and maps.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including child safety checks.
  • Assist students during boarding and disembarking, including operating wheelchair lifts.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students.
  • Attend all safety and training sessions.
  • Execute emergency evacuations from the bus when necessary.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the bus, both internally and externally.
  • Manage student behavior during transit.
  • Familiarize yourself with assigned route documentation or utilize electronic routing tools.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with necessary endorsements and any state or local permits as required.
  • Strong verbal communication abilities.
  • Willingness to work early morning shifts.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor towards colleagues and clients.
  • Dress appropriately for a professional environment.
  • Comply with OSHA regulations and other relevant federal and state laws.
  • Capability to utilize or learn to use the internet, additional software as needed, and office equipment.

Physical Requirements:
  • Successfully complete and maintain a dexterity assessment and DOT physical, adhering to a drug-free workplace policy.
  • Ability to operate service doors, emergency exits, bus hoods, and perform other physically demanding tasks.
  • Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs., walking across various terrains, climbing steps, and reaching for controls multiple times daily.
  • Sitting for extended periods, entering and exiting the bus, and conducting emergency evacuations as needed.
  • Effectively communicate in English with passengers, parents, school officials, and other stakeholders.
