POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a skilled Risk Management Analyst to join our internal construction contracts team. This pivotal role involves overseeing legal insurance matters, including the evaluation of insurance clauses in construction agreements, bond management, and the overall facilitation of the internal contracting workflow. The selected candidate will serve as the primary resource for all insurance-related inquiries specific to projects. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Risk Management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the contract approval workflow from creation to execution for all agreements, including the distribution of contracts, amendments, and extensions as required.
- Analyze and assess insurance clauses in construction contracts, collaborating with the insurance provider to ascertain compliance with Baker's requirements or to identify any additional coverage needs.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support bonding, insurance, and other contractual obligations.
- Collaborate with Estimators to review insurance prerequisites, obtain bond estimates, and secure bid bonds as necessary.
- Ensure adherence to insurance compliance and liaise with the compliance team for Federal and Public Works documentation.
- Oversee activities related to the signing, filing, tracking, and management of finalized contracts, including administrative tasks such as electronic contract management, metrics tracking, and document scanning.
- Review and process non-disclosure agreements, which may involve evaluating legal terms and conditions of various agreements based on experience.
- Assist with special projects as needed and perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
- The responsibilities outlined are intended to convey the general nature and scope of work for this position. Additional duties may be assigned based on the role within the business unit.
- 4 - 6 years of experience in a comparable role within the construction sector, such as Contract Administrator, Legal Counsel, or Risk Manager.
- Bachelor's degree in business, business law, construction management, or a related field.
- Juris Doctor degree is preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Effective time management skills, attention to detail, and a quick learning aptitude.
- Ability to efficiently manage and track numerous tasks.
- High level of computer proficiency, including expertise in Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated ability to interact and collaborate with a diverse range of employees.
The salary range for this position is competitive and reflects the candidate's experience and location. Additional rewards may include eligibility for annual bonuses based on individual and company performance, as well as various short- and long-term incentives.
