Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team at MeBe's Learning Center in North San Diego. As a Behavior Technician, you will work one-on-one with children with autism, teaching and nurturing behavioral, social, communication, and daily living skills. You will follow treatment plans developed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to help increase the child's communication, self-help, social, and play skills.

Responsibilities
  • Teach and nurture behavioral, social, communication, and daily living skills in a 1:1 setting to children with autism.
  • Follow treatment plans developed by BCBAs to help increase the child's communication, self-help, social, and play skills.
  • Relay information on the child's progress to BCBAs to keep them informed and assist with BCBA assessments.
  • Accurately record the child's behavior analysis and progress in our data collection system, Central Reach.
  • Responsible for clocking in, submitting session notes, and clocking out to align with strict ABA and insurance provider regulations.
  • Help keep our workplace safe, organized, and shipshape.
  • Assist with lunch breaks, bathroom breaks, and diaper changing as needed.
  • Help with projects and tasks as directed by your Site Director and Clinical Supervisors.
  • Voice questions, issues, and concerns to your supervisors as appropriate and take co-ownership of treatment planning.
  • Build positive relationships with families while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Contribute positively to the MeBe Family culture.
Qualifications
  • Consistent availability from Monday through Friday, with part-time shifts available.
  • Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • RBT/CBT certification preferred; must obtain within 60 days of employment (MeBe will help you).
  • Background in child care, teaching, counseling, or babysitting preferred.
  • Ability to frequently bend, lift (up to 50 lbs), squat, sit, stand, and/or run (without reasonable accommodations), see with prescription lenses, and hear with hearing aids.
  • Previous training in First Aid Certified and CPR preferred.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to work with computers.
  • Must have at minimum a high school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in areas like Pediatrics or Human Development (Biology) is preferred.
